What the GLP-1 Provider Fee Index measures

The RightFit GLP-1 Provider Fee Index tracks required charges that sit outside a medication price, such as memberships and consultation fees, when a provider publishes them separately. The purpose is to prevent a medication-only price from being compared directly with an all-in program price without showing the extra required cost.

Why the fee index is intentionally sparse

Many telehealth providers bundle medication, clinical access, support, supplies, or shipping into one recurring program price. In those programs there may be no separate membership row to publish. Other providers separate clinical care from the medication and clearly disclose a recurring membership or consultation charge.

The fee index is therefore not designed to have one row for every provider. It is designed to show only fees that exist as separate verified commercial facts.

Membership fees and medication prices answer different questions

A membership fee can pay for access to physicians, coaching, messaging, insurance support, or ongoing care, while the medication is billed separately. A medication price answers what the drug or product costs under the provider’s offer. The two values should remain distinct so readers can understand both the provider’s pricing and the total recurring obligation.

Mochi Health is a clear example of a separate membership model. Its current public material identifies a recurring membership and states that medication and diagnostic services are not included in the membership subscription. That makes the membership a separate required fee rather than part of the medication amount.

Consultation fees can exist without a recurring membership

Some care models charge for the clinical encounter or access while the medication is purchased through another channel. Amazon One Medical’s weight-loss care page, for example, publishes a care price that is separate from medication and lab costs. That belongs in the fee layer rather than being represented as the price of Wegovy or Zepbound.

This distinction matters because a low consultation fee can look like a very low medication price if the two fields are merged.

Bundled programs should not receive an invented fee

Providers that explicitly publish one all-in program price should not be assigned a separate membership merely because competitors charge one. If a provider says there is no membership fee or that membership is included in the program price, RightFit can preserve that statement in the program terms rather than creating a zero-dollar fee row unless the schema specifically needs one.

Why zero and unknown are not the same

A verified zero-dollar membership means the provider has clearly established that no separate membership charge applies to the program. An unknown membership field means RightFit has not verified whether such a charge exists. Treating those as the same would reward providers whose public pricing is incomplete.

The index therefore uses omission conservatively: no published fee row does not itself prove that the total cost has no other components.

First-month discounts need their renewal price

Memberships can have promotional first-month rates. The discounted amount is useful, but the ordinary renewal charge is usually more important for a recurring-cost comparison. RightFit keeps promotional and normal pricing concepts separate so a new-member discount does not become the apparent long-term fee.

Prepaid memberships can lower the monthly equivalent

A provider may offer multi-month membership plans at a lower effective monthly rate. That can reduce the monthly equivalent while requiring a larger payment up front. The commitment and total payment should stay attached to the fee just as they do for prepaid medication plans.

How fee records support total-cost analysis

Because medication and fees live in separate structured records, a future RightFit calculation can combine them only when the required components are known. For example, a medication-only amount plus a required monthly membership can be shown as two components of the recurring cost without rewriting either source observation.

This also allows the interface to distinguish required charges from optional services. Optional coaching or add-on products should not be added to the required total unless the provider makes them mandatory for the program.

Labs are not automatically program fees

Laboratory testing can be required, optional, included, or determined case by case by the clinician. A lab cost belongs in the fee index only when the provider publishes a separate required charge that can be tied to the program. A missing lab fee is not evidence that testing will never be needed.

Shipping can be an inclusion rather than a separate fee

Many telehealth providers publish that shipping is included in the medication or program price. In that case, RightFit records the inclusion with the price rather than inventing a separate shipping fee. If the provider publishes a separate required shipping charge, it can be represented independently.

Provider fee models can differ by product

A company can use an all-in model for compounded medication while charging separately for clinical access to an FDA-approved brand. It can also change fee structure across treatment categories. RightFit therefore attaches fee logic to the provider program rather than using a blanket company-wide assumption.

How source conflicts are handled

If one current provider page says a membership is included while another current page shows a separate required charge, the disputed fee should remain in review until the conflict can be reconciled. The index should not publish whichever interpretation creates the lower total.

This is especially important with old campaign pages, which may remain accessible after the provider changes its pricing model.

September 2026 fee snapshot

In the September 2026 launch-period dataset, RightFit’s published weight-management fee records included separate membership rows and a small number of consultation-fee rows. The limited count reflects the publication standard: fee records appear only when the separate charge is explicit and sourced.

The snapshot should not be interpreted as saying that every other GLP-1 provider has no fee. It means the current structured dataset does not contain a verified separate fee for those programs.

What the fee index cannot tell you

The fee index does not establish a patient’s final out-of-pocket cost. Insurance, manufacturer savings, pharmacy charges, labs, optional services, clinical decisions, and final checkout can change what a person pays. It also does not rank a provider as better or worse because the provider bundles or separates its fees.

How to compare two fee models

For a separate-fee program, compare the medication price and required membership or care fee for the same billing period. For a bundled program, use the published all-in amount and note what the provider says is included. Then compare commitment, prepayment, shipping, labs, cancellation terms, and state availability separately.

This approach avoids penalizing a transparent provider for itemizing its pricing while a competitor presents one larger bundled number.

A fee-verification checklist

• Is the fee explicitly required for this specific program?
• Is it recurring, one-time, or charged per visit?
• Does an introductory rate change at renewal?
• Does a lower effective rate require prepayment?
• Is medication included or billed separately?
• Are consultations included in the fee?
• Are shipping or labs included, separate, or unverified?
• Does the fee model differ for other products from the same provider?
• When was the fee last verified?

The provider-fee layer exists because headline medication prices do not always represent the full required recurring cost. By storing separate fees only when they are explicitly verified, RightFit can compare different business models without inventing charges or assuming that missing information means free.
